Crossroads 12:03
ROLLPLAY PRODUCTIONS // 2006
Film Synopsis
Is a mystery which explores life and death on two sides of the coin. It is a somewhat surreal tale which questions whether we are in control of our lives and the events which surround them, or if there is some more powerful force at play.
Filmmaker Notes
You sit in silence aware only of your surroundings. The lights flicker as dull echoes resonate through the walls, heavy and distant. You are alone but not all is what it seems. Questions side step through your mind, seeking escape. Where am I? How did I get here? How do I get home? But you don't quite seem to remember home, or much of anything for that matter. The mystery deepens! All you have is here and now, and you want out. Then flash!! The floodgates open, and the memories start to flow, and you remember…
The hardest part of doing anything is beginning. The movie Crossroads 12:03 was no exception.
The process began as a brainstorm involving about 10 core members of the RollPLAY production group. The brainstorm quickly turned into a typhoon, thoughts went everywhere and few lives were spared. The issue was, we wanted something dark, sinister, but with a point. We wanted to challenge relevant issues of not only the youth but of everyone. But we didn't want to be conventional…
The onslaught of thoughts continued, many a caffeinated beverage was consumed, but after a few weeks of hitting our heads against the brick wall, which now lay broken and caked in blood and remnant brain matter, we had some basic outlines for the story.
