AND THE WINNERS FROM THE FILM FESTIVAL ARE ...

 

The crowd arrived early to Village Cinemas at Century City Walk, eagerly awaiting this year’s screening of short-listed films for the Monash Youth Film Festival. The night was opened by Mayor Paul Klisaris, excitement building as the cinema hosted close to 200 eager filmmakers, their family and friends to see 14 short films screened

Best Drama - My Brother Danny - Chris & Robert Smellin
Best Comedy (Secondary School) - Trolley - Andrew Morton
Best Lead Actor - Matthew Paine as ‘Matthew’ in My Brother Danny
Best Lead Actress - Takako Kajiya as “Mimi” in Mimiking
Best Animation - Power of Imagination - Alex Clapp
Best Cinematography - CTU - by Ashley Davies, Ravindu Wickramasinghe and Fiona McAlpine
Best Original Concept (Secondary School) - State of Oblivion - Annalisa Nevill
Best Documentary - Yakking about YAAC - by Young People's Action Committee in the area of Ashburton, Ashwood and Chadstone
Best Music Video - In Her Eyes - by Lori Young, Chris and Robert Smellin
Audience Choice Award - Mimiking - by Matt Pastor
