MYFS have had a number of amazing students on board this year. One of these students is Kim. Kim goes to a local school and has been busy doing work experience with MYFS. Kim has assisted us to work on the City of Monash Action Plan for Young People 2009-2012 by reviewing MYFS website, not only did she review the website, she convinced her whole class to review it for us too. It was great to have all their input, so thanks Kim and a big thanks to your teacher and the VCAL class of 2010.
A bit about Kim…

Who is your favourite band or singer?
What is your favourite colour?
Who is your hero? And why?
My hero is a person called Mel Smith, because she is in a wheel chair, also talks with a computer and she goes places overseas.

I am studying for my VCAL Certificate (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning)
Tell us about your amazing pink computer and what it is for?
My pink computer is called a Vmax. It’s a voice device, I can talk and text with my Vmax. I can also go on the internet, save my school work and change channels on the TV. I can also nag my dad – that’s how I got a dog.
What made you pick Monash Youth and Family Services for your placement?
We did some careers testing and Marian, my teacher found me a placement at MYFS. My placement is part of the Learn About Work program at Glenallen School.
Tell us how you feel about helping the City of Monash to implement their Action Plan for Young People?
It was good to help and great to have people listen to my ideas.
What would you like to do in the future?
Write a book, be rich and famous and travel to Italy.
Thanks for helping us out Kim!
