The Young Women’s Leadership Program is starting again, this time running across Term 1 & 2. This is for young women (aged 15-20 years) looking to build leadership skills, meet likeminded peers, talk about women’s issues and learn how to leap over barriers to achieving goals. Feedback from 2017 and 2106 graduates has included;
“I’ve learnt a lot and discovered a lot of new confidence. I have realised young women don’t have to be voiceless and can achieve big things.”
“It has allowed me to recognise barriers and injustices young women face and helped me to develop techniques to overcome this challenge”
The program runs for 10 weeks, on Tuesdays from 4:30pm-6:30pm, starting 6th March 2018. Delivered by Monash Youth Services (MYS) and South East Community Links (SECL) at the Clayton Community Centre, 9 Cooke Street, Clayton. This program is FREE. For enquiries or bookings call Siobhan at MYS on 9518 3900. Limited places, bookings essential.
The program was also successful in receiving funding this year, so we will be running this on alternate days and times later in 2018. If you are interested, but not able to attend this first round, please feel free to call to find out about other sessions being offered. This program is proudly supported by the VicHealth Bright Futures funding.
